Nance Wheeler is currently participating in the Silicon Valley Open Studios Preview Show at Intel Corporation's Santa Clara site. This painting called "Silver Sea" is 16X20 inches. The exploration of texture and the sculptural qualites in a 2-dimensional media bring an underlying technical theme to the painting. This is in contrast to the simple visual exploration of space which purposefully invites the viewer to relax and be transported.

At the recent Open Studios even I was honored to be interviewed by Risk Taking Coach and New Market Strategist Dee McCrorey. She was there to talk about changing careers for her Road to Innovation vlog. I have been transitioning from a corporate position to a working artist. If I was working in Da Vinci's time, that might mean I had joined a studio or was supported by a patron. These days, being a working artist means I have become a solo entrepeneur.
In the interview we discuss how small changes have added up to a major transition in my career. Please take a look at the video interview on Dee's Road to Innovation website. http://roadtoinnovation.tv

The Friday night opening of the Pacific Art League's Portfolio Show was exciting. That show was on all December and it was a great opportunity to meet collectors and artists from the community. Personally, I recommend regular viewing of PAL's Gallery. With monthly shows there is always something interesting to see. The Gallery is at the corner of Forest and Ramona in Palo Alto, CA. I submit to the monthly shows a couple times a year, so you might see me there--in person or in spirit with a piece of art.
